About
Independent schools are a unique breed of private schools that operate solely to fulfill their educational mission. Much is written about this vibrant educational system but most of it is by experts addressing the administration, faculty or trustees of independent schools. The more interesting, frank and often passionate writing–the stuff that gets to the heart of the independent school experience–rarely leaves the grounds of those schools. With this site, we hope to begin collecting and publishing that material so it can find a wider audience.
The Independent School Report was started by Chatsworth Hills Academy, an independent private school educating children in preschool through 8th grade located in Chatsworth, California (suburban Los Angeles). We look forward to the participation of others in the independent school community.
