What a delight and thrill it was when CHA’s Winter Holiday Program was performed in the evening under the spotlights and on the big stage at CSUN. Opening of this wonderful program was an extraordinary DVD presentation of holiday songs by the entire Early Childhood student body. Attired in custom-made hats and matching scarves from the designer and Early Childhood teacher Jackie Schulz, Beginner, Intermediate and Pre-Kindergarten students reminded us all of the joy and spirit of this magical season. Each of six songs of the season (Jingle Bells, Burn Little Candle, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Dreidel Song, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and Let It Snow) was filled with excitement and wonder of the holiday.

The Plaza del Sol Performance Hall featured outstanding performances from each of the Lower School classes. Kindergarteners presented Little Dreidel, first graders Deck the Halls and Kwanza’s Here while the second grade performed Little Drummer Boy and O’Tanenbaum. Following these wonderful presentations was the third and fourth grade chorus with a Hanukkah medley, the African carol Siyahamba, My Favorite Things and When You Wish upon a Star. Each song delighted all in the audience both in the diversity of the season and through the students’ outstanding performance.

Cast members from the Middle School production of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Sunday, April 6, 2008) took the stage with a medley of songs while the entire Middle School delighted the audience with the Ukrainian Carol of the Bells, and the Mexican carol Feliz Navidad. The entire program was arranged and directed by Brandi Williams who joined the CHA faculty in September. Her expertise, energy and dedication provided the leadership for this wonderful evening that was enjoyed by a full house of 500 guests. Congratulations go to Ms. Williams, all CHA students and teachers and to all parents and guests.
